Aims of the Course:
Aims to give the candidate knowledge and assess them on their ability to deal with emergency situations, how to recognise and respond to serious medical conditions and serious injuries
Pre-Requisites:
Be 16 years of age or older

Assessing an emergency situation and Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child
CPR, AED & Choking
Meningitis
Head and Spinal Injuries
Anaphylaxis
Common medical conditions
Bleeding
Fractures , dislocations strains and sprains
Eye, ear and nose injuries,bites and stings
Electric Shock
Burns and Scalds
Sudden Poisoning
Mandatory Units:
Emergency Paediatric First Aid
Managing Paediatric Illness, Injuries and Emergencies
Assessment Criteria:
Continual assessment by the course tutor on practical skills

• Managing Paediatric Illness, Injuries and Emergencies: 10 / 14
All learning outcomes and assessment criteria in the units must be achieved in order for the learner to be deemed competent and pass the qualification
